Vitamin C Serum for your skin

USES & BENEFITS OF HOMEMADE VITAMIN C SERUM FOR SKIN CARE
  • To extend the effectiveness of a vitamin C serum (through small production and quick use)
  • As a natural skin moisturizer and humectant, ie to restore water in the skin
  • As an antioxidant to fight against free radical skin damage commonly related to premature signs of aging like wrinkles
  • To promote natural production of collagen and elastin in the skin
  • To promote the skin's natural ability to heal itself
  • To protect against sun damage
  • To even out skin color irregularities
  • As a non toxic solution to healthy skin
  • As a less expensive alternative to commercial vitamin C serums

WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE VITAMIN C SERUM FOR SKIN CARE
  • 1 tsp   Vitamin C (in the form of either L Ascorbic Acid powder OR Camu powder. The ultra fine powders can be easier to handle. Camu is an all natural alternative that is the most concentrated form of Vitamin C known.)
  • 1 tsp   Distilled Water
  • 1 tsp   Vegetable Glycerine

HOW TO MAKE VITAMIN C SERUM FOR SKIN CARE
  1. Mix all of the ingredients until the vitamin C powder if dissolved
  2. After cleaning your face and neck, rub the vitamin C serum between your clean, dry palms and then apply over your face and neck
  3. Leave on overnight
  4. Make this in small quantities and use all of the vitamin C quickly. This is important to ensure that the vitamin C serum does not become oxidized - a process that renders vitamin C serums less effective. (Powdered vitamin C is useful to reduce the chance of losing the effectiveness of a vitamin C serum).

OBSERVATIONS & QUESTIONS
  • When first applied, the vitamin C serum stings slightly.
  • I wanted to try using zinc oxide with this serum because it is a natural broad range sun block. However, unlike ascorbic acid and camu, it is not water soluble. Any thoughts or ideas?
