Anti-Aging Toner & Daily Mist with Rice Water

Rice water is an anti-aging solution. This is mostly because it contains a nourishing substance called inositol that stimulates cell growth, tissue regeneration and blood flow. Consequently, rice water can also tighten pores and give the skin a glow. Due to its ability to absorb UV rays and bind with the skin’s copper, along with the fact that it contains antioxidants, rice water prevents the formation of melanin (the brown skin pigmentation) and, in turn age spots / hyper-pigmentation. In fact, it has been used for 'skin whitening' in many Asian countries. Further benefits include the fact that this rice water recipe treats acne and blemishes, clears redness and can even be used for the hair. (Also see the fermented rice water version for hair use).

To make anti-aging rice water skin toner, you will need

• Rice; 1 part. Use any organic type. The rice water will contain antioxidants such as vitamin C and flavanoid compounds.
• Water; 3 parts. If you are using green tea, this water should be used for steeping it.
• Optional; organic green tea
• Optional; vegetable glycerin. This is a humectant that I love using on my skin and hair. Beware however, a little goes a long way. Besides, using too much, too frequently might cause breakouts.
• Optional; rose water
• A mixing bowl
• A strainer
• A storage bottle
• Cotton balls 
• A spray bottle if you wish to use the rice water as a daily mist
• A clean wash cloth or paper towel if you wish to use the rice water as part of a facial mask

How to make and apply anti-aging rice water toner

• Steep the green tea in boiling hot water
• When the green tea has cooled to room temperature, pour the plain water or green tea over the rice, stir and allow to stand for at least 30 minutes
• Strain off the rice
• Store the rice water in the refrigerator until you are ready to use it. It can remain in the refrigerator for roughly one week
• Feel free to mist this un-fermented rice water over your hair as rice water provides a very effective protein hair treatment

Homemade Natural Anti-Aging, Anti Wrinkle Face & Body Moisturizer

Here is one of my simple product recipes for making a homemade natural anti-aging skin moisturizer for the face and or whole body. You may find it a particularly useful as an anti-aging, anti wrinkle skin care product that can also combats psoriasis, acne and many other skin concerns. Even if you do not have any skin concerns, you are still likely to enjoy this moisturizer because it can nourish your skin and make your skin look youthful and beautiful.

To Make Homemade Natural Anti-Aging, Anti Wrinkle Face & Body Moisturizer, you will need the following ingredients 

• Aloe Vera Gel (1 mature aloe vera leaf). (Optional. If you use aloe vera gel, see instructions on preserving natural homemade products). By the way, aloe vera contains polysaccharides, enzymes, amino acids, proteins and several minerals and vitamins like vitamins C, E and A. These components can nourish skin. Aloe vera is also an excellent moisturizer because it is a humectant. In other words, it actually absorbs moisture from the air. Aloe vera gel is so beneficial to the skin that it can also retain your skin's natural pH balance. It is even antibacterial and usually safe for any skin type. Take Control! • 1 tbsp Vegetable Glycerine. You may need to adjust the volumes of this moisturizing ingredient according to your personal preference. Vegetable glycerine is a powerful humectant that works synergistically with aloe vera and the next ingredient, rose water as an ultimate anti-aging, anti wrinkle moisturizer. 
• Approx 1/2 cup filtered Water and or Rose Water (Pure & Organic). Rose water is ideal for any skin type.
• Approx 10 drops Argan Oil (100% Pure & Cold Pressed Virgin) or Ubiquinol Coq10 (the ubiquinol form of CoQ10 can be better absorbed as you go beyond 30) for extra anti-aging skin care. These ingredients are more expensive but are the most powerful for anti-aging benefits. The following ingredient list of alternatives can be used for this anti-aging moisturizer: Cold pressed Avocado Oil (Extra Virgin), Olive Oil (Extra Virgin & Organic) (for very dry skin), Sweet Almond Oil (Pure & Organic) and Coconut Oil (Extra Virgin & Organic)
• Optional Ingredients to personalize this natural anti-aging skin moisturizer. The following essential oils may be used according to your skin type. For normal skin, add Lavender Essential Oil (Pure, Undiluted, Therapeutic Grade) or Rose Essential Oil (Pure). For dry skin, add Cedarwood Essential Oil (Pure, Undiluted, Therapeutic Grade) or Rosewood Essential Oil (Pure, Therapeutic Grade). Instructions for Making Homemade Natural Anti-Aging, Anti Wrinkle Face & Body Moisturizer

1. If you choose to use aloe vera gel; remove the aloe vera from the skin, rinse the aloe vera gel (to remove the brown, yellow juice that causes itching in some people], blend and strain it. For a longer shelf life, use a natural preservative (see video on how to preserve natural homemade products)
