Rice Starch DIY

Uses & Benefits of Rice Starch

  • rice starch may be used in cosmetic preparations like hair shampoo, skin creams and soaps.
  • rice starch may help to control excess oil in oily skin.
  • removing the starch allows you to prepare edible rice that is more suitable for anyone concerned with reducing blood sugar levels, like diabetics.

To make rice starch, you will need the following.

  • rice, raw, organic & dry
  • water, COLD (NOT hot)*, roughly 10 times the weight of the dry rice
  • stick blender. If you use hot water or cook the rice, the non-starch parts of the rice will combine with the starch to the extent that makes it too hard to separate.
  • cheese cloth or other substitute made of cotton like a thin bandana
  • a large jug (for blending the rice and water and then for allowing the starch to settle)
  • a large 'catchment' container (to catch the strained off water and starch). I prefer a tall transparent jug. However, any large container will suffice.
  • dehumidification:
    • dehumidifier  -- or --
    • baking sheet, good ventilation and sunlight on a dry day
  • storage container

Steps for making of Rice Starch

  1. wash rice until water rinses clean. Ex 100g rice
  2. fully immerse and soak in COLD water for roughly 45 minutes. Dry rice can be easily blended in water. However, from within roughly 20 minutes of being soaked, most types of rice begin to absorb water. This absorption helps the blending process necessary for extracting the maximum amount of starch. In fact, my first very successful attempt at this process was with rice flour that I had made previously. Soaking the flour before and after blending it endlessly likely helped considerably. Regarding the water, depending on your container, roughly 3 times the weight of the dry rice should suffice. Do NOT cook the rice or use hot water (see reason above*). Ex 300g COLD water
  3. stick blend until the water becomes milky and the rice feels like very coarse sand.
  4. Add more water (roughly 7 times the weight of the dry rice) and allow it to soak for an additional hour. Ex 700g COLD water.
  5. stick blend again until very smooth. I used the highest setting on my blender to really breakdown the rice, even when I was starting with dry rice flour.
  6. (The milky water contains the starch). Very GENTLY pass the liquid through a cloth. Stretch the cloth above the catchment container and drag a spoon back and forth as the liquid drains through the cloth. I successfully did this process with a cotton wrap, which is the same type of fabric used for making light weight bandanas or handkerchiefs. Other common types of cloth include a nut milk cloth or cheese cloth and into the catchment container. Do not wring the cloth as this is likely to rip it. I keep the cloth moderately taut by tying its ends in a knot on one side of underneath the catchment container.
  7. To maximize your starch harvest, you may add more water to the remaining rice solids in the strainer and repeat the straining process.
  8. cover the milky water and allow starch to settle for roughly 2 hours.
  9. Rinse the starch as many times as necessary until the water above is clear. Even though the water is very milky and opaque, you should see the starch begin to settle within a few minutes. However, ensure the water becomes clear by rinsing the starch. To rinse the starch, drain off the milky water and then stir in fresh water with the settled starch. Repeat this step until the water becomes clear. (The remaining solid rice grains can be cooked with much less water than normal and seasoned to make rice that is low carbohydrate / starch-free and therefore more suitable for diabetics than otherwise).

  10. pour off water and transfer to baking tray
  11. allow to dry slowly in a dehydrator or the sun. Beware, applying to much heat that resembles cooking can result in a gelatinous effect. Rice starch becomes irreversibly gelatinous if combined with water and heat
  12. pulverize by blending the caked starch and then sift into a storage container. The amount of starch rendered is roughly 20% of the weight of the dry rice. Ex 20g rice starch.

DIY Potato Starch

Uses & benefits of potato starch

  • rice starch may be used in cosmetic preparations like hair shampoo, skin creams and soaps.

Steps for making potato starch

  1. Peel, cube and wash potatoes.
  2. Blend with plenty water.
  3. Catch the water while straining the mixture with a fine fabric. The water being caught contains the starch.
  4. Add more water to the fiber and repeat the straining process until you have extracted as much starch, evident by a 'cloudy' appearance of the water.
  5. Discard the solid that remains in the strainer.
  6. Wash the starch several times until the water becomes clear. To do this, wait for the starch to settle stiffly at the bottom of the container before discarding the water. Stir in fresh water and then wait for the starch to settle again before repeating the process.
  7. Dry the wet starch over a baking tray in the sun, oven or in a dehydrator.
  8. Blend the dried clumps of starch in a grinder until a fine powder.

Creamy Rice Milk DIY

This ultra creamy rice milk is ideal for anyone with nut or soy allergies and high energy needs like athletes. Having said that, when compared with dairy milk, it has less protein and more carbohydrates, the latter of which is not ideal for persons suffering with diabetes.

This recipe is a very quick method for cooked rice milk. It renders either an extremely viscous milk I call a 'condensed rice milk' (the default product of this recipe), 'heavy cream rice milk' or a 'regular light weight rice milk' (the latter two of which are the result of diluting the condensed milk). This recipe gives you the choice to dilute to any of these levels of concentration from the same starting weight of raw rice grains. This method also provides a trick that makes this process much faster than other cooked rice milks.

You will need
  • Rice grains, ground, white raw, 8.8 times less than the required amount of condensed milk (Example If I want 100g of condensed rice milk, I need 11.4 g raw rice)
  • Water, 14 times weight of raw rice (Example 159.6 g).
  • Resources:
    • coffee grinder
    • heat source, spoon and pot. I prefer pots that are narrow and tall than otherwise so as to minimize the surface area from which water evaporates. (If you are concerned with heavy metals, ensure that metal implements are stainless steel, ceramic and so on. For soap making, also, use distilled water)
    • roughly 35 minutes overall
    • blender and bowl for mixing (I use tall jugs)
    • strainer
    • bottle for storing finished product

Steps
  1. Use a coffee grinder to grind the rice grains. This is the time-saving trick I promised. Most people boil the rice grains whole and must cook for considerably longer. To be safe, I strain the ground rice to exclude the hard parts that can not be easily ground as those hard parts will not cook as quickly as the rest of the rice.
  2. Add the raw ground rice to roughly 10 times its weight in boiling hot water (Example I add 11.4 g raw rice to 114 g boiling hot water). Heat on a low flame until the rice looks more like porridge and can be easily mashed into a smooth paste. This is likely to require up to 20 minutes.
  3. Blend very well until a completely smooth paste. You should not be able to feel grains when rubbing this paste between your fingers. This is what I call the 'condensed rice milk'.
  4. Add a little of the remaining water that is roughly 4 times the weight of the raw rice (Example 46 gto help in scraping, straining and pouring the milk. If you strained and boiled the rice grounds sufficiently, the amount of fiber that remains in the strainer should be negligible. Discard or compost that remaining rice fiber. This milk is what I call 'heavy cream rice milk'
  5. For what I call the 'regular light weight rice milk', add more water. A rule of thumb is to add water that is equal in weight to the condensed milk (from the previous step).

Remove Age Spots with Hydrogen Peroxide

Remove Age Spots with Hydrogen Peroxide

You Will Need the Following To Remove Age Spots with Hydrogen Peroxide

    -- --

How to Remove Age Spots with Hydrogen Peroxide

    • Gently wash face with warm water and cleanser. Remember to do the same with your neck and chest.
    • Gently pat dry with a soft tower. Dry skin is better able to absorb hydrogen peroxide
    • Soak sterilized cotton in hydrogen peroxide
    • Apply the hydrogen peroxide to spots with age spots. If you are concerned about preventing further recurrences, apply the hydrogen peroxide in those areas of concern
    • Rinse the face with only water. Do not leave on the hydrogen peroxide as it is very drying
    • Apply a moisturizer to prevent your skin from becoming overly dry after this treatment
    • Avoid going out into the sun without sunblock

Remove age spots naturally with onion juice and liver health care

Age spots are freckles that begin to appear as one ages and or with considerable exposure to the sun. They are spots that stand out from the rest of your skin because they are darker. They appear on any ethnic group, including black skin. Consequently, the easiest way of identifying them is through the fact that they 'suddenly' appear as you age and stand out from the background on any part of the body that is exposed to sunlight, the face, shoulders, hands, back and so on. This post explains a home remedy as a natural alternative to chemical skin bleaching treatments for removing these spots.
    -- --
Essentially, age spots are an external sign of oxidation within your body. However, they may be related to impaired liver function or nutritional deficiencies.

To prepare onion juice for age spots, you will need the following

    • onion.
      • Onion has antioxidant properties that neutralize free radicals
    • apple cider vinegar
      • Apple cider vinegar / ACV contains alpha-hydroxy acid, an ingredient that helps to remove the top layer of dead skin where many of the age spots are.
    • juicing implements
      • juicer - or -
      • 1) blender or mortar & pestle and 2) strainer or cheesecloth - or -
      • chopping knife, bowl and eating fork
    • cotton wool or dropper for extraction from the container and application to your skin
    • airtight container for storage
    • refrigeration for storage
    --
    --

Preparing onion juice for age spots

    • Blend and strain the onion and vinegar. Alternatively, process the onion in a juicer. If you have neither a blender nor juicer, chop up the onion as finely as possible and then use a fork to mash it with the apple cider vinegar. Allow the mixture to soak for a few hours before mashing again and straining.
    • Apply the juice with cotton wool. If you are applying this over your face, remember to include your neck and chess
    • Allow to remain on your skin for at least 30 minutes. There is no harm leaving it on overnight or all day for instance. However, onion juice has a strong smell of sulphur which may make it less than desirable. Having said this, I notice that, although I agonize over the smell, others can not detect it. I hazard a guess that others might detect the smell if you are in a hot, humid environment.
    • You may store the remainder in an airtight container for up to roughly 3 days
    • This apparently works within varying time periods. I have seen reports of people seeing results after 4 to 6 weeks of using this remedy every day.
    • Consider detoxing your liver. A truly naturopathic approach should not end at only tackling the problem at the superficial level of the skin but at the possible root cause, the liver. Consider liver enemas and other natural liver detox remedies.

    DIY Natural Insect Repellent

how to make natural DIY insect repellent Naturopathic Control
I will discuss three common approaches to making a DIY natural insect repellent. Specifically, they involve spraying your DIY natural insect repellent over the skin, making a natural deodorant with insect repelling essential oils and using bush craft, ie rubbing leaves with insect repelling properties. With any or all of these three approaches, consume foods according to the extent to which their odour in your sweat repels or attracts insects. For instance, before entering an environment with insects, drink a glass of water with Apple Cider Vinegar and avoid consuming fruits and sweet. Furthermore, avoid fruity body fragrances.

#1 DIY Natural Insect Repellent for the whole body
Mix the following in a spray bottle. If you can, perform pH tests to ensure that the natural DIY insect repellent achieves a pH of 4 to 5.5. Since human skin has a natural pH of roughly 5.0 to 5.5 (i.e. slightly acidic), a natural insect repellent within the ideal range will protect the sebum, i.e. your skin's 'acid mantle'. Shake vigorously before using this DIY natural insect repellent spray. Additionally, you may need to re-apply it every few hours.

#2. DIY Natural Insect Repellent as a Natural Deodorant
See how to make and apply this DIY natural deodorant that can also act as an insect repellent. Keep this deodorant oil in a tinted dropper bottle (to prevent light degradation).

#3. DIY Natural Insect Repellent in the Wilderness; Bush Craft

    a. I have not yet used this option personally. However, I would be happy for comments from anyone who tries it. Steam and or smolder the bark of plants from which pungent repelling essential oils (known to you or not) originate. This might require smelling the leaves to determine whether they are similar to commonly known repellents.

    • If you have a pot, shred the bark into the pot and simmer.
    • If you do not have anything on which to put the bark, erect a piece of hard branch from the ground and chip away the middle of it to create a 2-pronged fork with a gap only wide enough to accommodate the wood to be smoldered.

    b. Rub the following directly onto your skin. You will need to re-apply this form of natural insect repellent very frequently.
    • crushed lippia (alba leaves) (apparently very potent as a natural insect repellent)
    • crushed lemon balm leaves
    • crushed rosemary leaves

Soursop leaves as a natural anticancer & diabetes treatment

Soursop leaves are a rich source of many nutrients that include but not limited to calcium, protein, vitamins A and B1 and B2. Although the benefits of the soursop can be derived by eating the fruit, eating the fruit is most effective for basic prevention. However, making teas from the leaves (fresh or dried) and, as an option, with a small piece of stem is used for healing several conditions, the most common and documented of which is cancer.
Fortunately, soursop leaf tea has a wonderful fruity taste and can be consumed either hot or cold. You may however sweeten soursop leaf tea with honey (but not sugar).

USING THE BENEFITS OF SOURSOP LEAVES

    • Research by the National Cancer Institute (in the US) shows that soursop leaves destroy cancer cells. In fact, soursop leaf tea is deemed many times more effective as an anticancer treatment than chemotherapy. Soursop leaves are therefore an all natural alternative to chemotherapy. Thus far, all such known tests have shown given these results and studied cancers of the prostate, pancreas and lungs. Roughly 10 soursop leaves may be used to make a daily anti-cancer tea for about a month by boiling the leaves in 3 cups of uncovered water over a medium heat until the water is reduced to a cup. Consume the soursop leaf tea within 8 hours afterwards. In short, soursop leaves are an effective natural method for treating cancer, without chemotherapy. Hooray! This is such exciting news. It's been kept secret for long but no more. So cheers and take control!

    • Soursop leaves may also stabilise your blood sugar level.
    • Soursop leaves are used to boost the immune system and prevent infections. Daily immunity boost tea from soursop leaves can be made by boiling roughly 5 soursop leaves in 3.5 cups of uncovered water until the water is reduced to about a cup.
    • Using teas made of soursop leaves are also used to promote overall good health and confort. For instance, sour soup leaves are known to enhance digestion, lower high blood pressure, inhibit the growth of intestinal parasites and treat rheumatic diseases (as seen in elderly people).
    • The uric acid content in soursop leaves in teas often helps to treat gout. Daily soursop leaf teas are made a little stronger than the others by boiling roughly 10 soursop leaves in 2 cups of uncovered water until the water is reduced to a cup.
    • Soursop leaves can be used topically for skin care. For instance, soursop leaves can treat boils and  eczema by crushing the leaves and placing them on the affected area.

    CONTRAINDICATIONS OF SOURSOP LEAVES

As with anything else, there are certain circumstances in which using soursop leaves is not advisable. Take the time to do some research about your personal health concerns. Here are some contraindications.
    • Since soursop leaves are hypo-tensive (i.e. they reduce blood pressure), they should be avoided by people who suffer low blood pressure. Hypertensives who are taking medication should discuss their use of soursop and possible adjustments of their medication with their doctor so as to avoid problems with low blood pressure.
    • Soursop leaves should not be used during pregnancy since it has been shown to be a uterine stimulant (in rats)
    • Since soursop leaves are antimicrobial, prolonged use may reduce the population of good bacteria, aka probiotics needed for proper digestion. If you have such concerns, consider using probiotic-rich foods and or supplements along with soursop leaves.

    Cleansing Enemas & Herbal Enemas

    What is an enema?

Enemas are a form of colon irrigation from the anus with solutions that are most commonly water-based. They are used for the purpose of flushing out the colon and healing.

What is the spiritual significance of enemas?

In some parts of the world, enemas are automatically given to admitted hospital patients. This practice is based on the medical (and naturopathic) understanding that the body's natural ability to heal itself is significantly enhanced if its eliminatory channels are cleared. As the hermetic principle of correspondence reveals; the mental, spiritual and physical 'bodies' correlate with each other, impacting each other back and forth. Consequently, when using enemas, some spiritual practitioners draw this connection of clearing mental, spiritual and physical channels of blocks to enhance healing and free space for the flow of positivity into your life. In short, enemas are like a physical banishing ritual that welcomes the process of transmutation of energies from negative into positive ones.

How effective are enemas (when compared with ingested cleansing alternative)?

Enemas (whether cleansing enemas or herbal enemas) expose active substances to the intestinal tract and blood stream more efficiently than the ingestion method. For instance, herbs are immediately and directly absorbed through the intestinal walls. In other words, these active substances do not lose potency or become destroyed as they would by the gastric juices when swallowed.

    2 Types of Enema

Enemas may be classified into 2 categories, 1) cleansing and 2) herbal (for healing or treating specific organs). Generally, cleansing enemas are administered first. This enhances absorption during subsequent herbal enemas. In summary, the most common are as follows.
    1. Cleansing Enemas: Acidophilus Enema, Coffee Enema, Epsom Salt Enema, Lemon Juice Enema, Milk & Molasses Enema, Salt Water Enema
    2. Herbal Enema: Aloe vera enema, Garlic enema, Neem Enema

    How to administer an enema

Before administering an herbal enema, do a cleansing enema to remove as much fecal matter as possible. This is ideal for enhancing your level of absorption.

    You will need:
    • Filtered water (chlorine-free water) at body temperature of roughly 37 degrees C (99 degrees F). If you can, invest in a high quality water filter. Why cleanse to remove toxins with contaminated water? Read a short description of the superior specifications of Crown Berkey systems. (They remove fluoride and much more than average filters)
Crown Berkey Water Filters: 2 Filter Elements
Crown Berkey: Stainless Steel; 2 black Crown Berkey filter
elements; 2 PF-2 filters; Up to 6.5 gallons of purified water hourly
Crown Berkey - 2 filter systems through Amazon

Crown Berkey Water Filters: 8 Filter Elements
Crown Berkey: Stainless Steel;8 black Crown Berkey filter
      elements to purify water; 4 Sports water purification bottles;
Up to 26 gallons of purified filtered water per hour
Crown Berkey - 8 filter systems through Amazon
    • Other ingredients (as per the enema recipes below)
    • towels to lie on to absorb spills (just in case)
    • entertainment while you hold the enema (a book, music and so on)
    • timer
    • an oil vaporizer to burn essential peppermint oil to disinfect the air (Optional)
    • massage oil. If you wish to massage your stomach, a massage oil will reduce the friction. (Optional)

    Steps (for a DIY enema):
    1. Be sure that you have no contraindications for taking enemas
    2. Prepare yourself physically, your space and equipment. The following are examples.
      1. Drink lot of fluids some hours beforehand
      2. You are likely to be naked from the waist down during the enema process. In that case, prepare a space appropriately regarding privacy, temperature and so on
      3. For most solutions, the enema bag should be suspended about 45 cm / 1.5 feet above your anus. (BTW, higher elevations increase the flow pressure). Most door handles offer an ideal height if you lie on the ground.
    3. Choose a type of enema based on your reasons for using enemas. For instance, if you wish to cleanse your colon by enema for the first time, consider a sea salt enema. It is also advisable to use cleansing enemas before herbal enemas to enhance the absorption of herbs in herbal enemas. (See recipes for cleansing enemas and herbal enemas)
    4. Use the cleansing enema and herbal enema recipes below as guides. You will notice that, as time passes when you are on a cleansing program that involves fasting, your body will be able to accept more liquid than otherwise. In that case, you may alter the volumes up (or downwards). For first timers, your solution may start with as little as 2 cups of water. Many doctors believe that enemas can only be truly effective if they are high-volume enemas (of roughly 17 to 25 cups). High-volume enemas can give the same experiences as professional colonics. As with professional colonics, many believe that high-volume enemas should be repeated within single sessions until bowel movements are clear. However, listen to your body regarding its limit of repeats within a session. For instance, if you just feel too exhausted, stop.
    5. If you are doing a high-volume enema and or repeats within a single session, have the solution prepared beforehand.
    6. If possible, prepare to have the enema on an empty stomach and after a bowel movement. This is mostly a matter of comfort and an attempt to minimize nausea.
    7. Before beginning, decide on a position that you can hold comfortably for at least 5 minutes as you administer the enema. Most people find lying on the left side easiest while administering the enema with the right hand. Do a dry run, ensuring that you can easily hold the clamp to hold the nozzle in place and adjust the clamp for flow.
    8. Remove air pockets in the tube of the enema bagDo this by allowing some of the enema solution to flow through and out of the tube (into a sink) before clamping it closed again.
    9. Lubricate the nozzle and anus with a natural oil like olive or coconut oil.
    10. Gently and slowly insert the nozzle up to about 3 inches along the natural channel of your anus.
    11. Relax your body as much as possible. It is likely that your first flush will not accommodate too much liquid. This is to be expected especially if you are constipated. In such cases, repeats will usually allow you to receive more enema solution.
    12. Stop the flow just before the tube runs out of the enema solution. This prevents air from entering into the anus
    13. Hold enemas for as long as possible between 10 to 15 minutes for cleansing enemas and between 15 and 45 minutes for herbal enemas.
      1. Massage in a non-peristalsis direction, ie massage upwards on your left side, from left to right at the top of your intestinal area, then down to the level of your navel. This helps to push the enema solution upward through your larger intestines.
      2. If possible, change position after a few minutes. The positions are your left side, back, right side and, if possible, your stomach
    14. Evacuate when you have completed the required time and or when you can no longer hold the enema. To help with evacuation, use the nauli yogic technique.
    15. As an option, end with a small acidophilus enema (to replenish beneficial bacteria that were flushed out along with harmful bacteria during the cleansing process). Do this especially if you frequently administer other (non-acidophilus) enemas.
    16. After your final of several repeat injections of enema solution, replenish the electrolytes in your body. To replenish electrolytes, drink water with a pinch of sea salt.

    List of Cleansing Enemas

    (in alphabetical order)
    Acidophilus Enema recipe
Healthful benefits: This is used for removing excess fecal matter from and introducing beneficial bacteria into the gastrointestinal tract.
    • 1tsp powdered acidophilus / 4 tbsp probiotic yogurt
    • 8.5 cups water. I have blended fresh aloe gel into the water because it is a prebiotic which help probiotics to thrive.

    Coffee Enema recipe
Healthful benefits: Liver detoxification (removes toxic bile); relieve any illness impacted by compromise to the body's natural ability to heal as a liver detox is essentially a form of dialysis (ie a process of blood purification); to reduce edema; to treat eczema (and many other skin disease). For an intolerance of coffee enemas, consider replacing or combining (with roughly 50%) coffee enemas with chamomile tea enemas. For instance, coffee enemas may trigger colitis in some people. (See details of chamomile enemas on this page). This enema is commonly used as part of a full liver and gall bladder flush program.

Combine coffee and cold water. Boil for 3 minutes in an uncovered stainless steel or glass pot. Lower heat and simmer for roughly 15 minutes. Cool, filter and administer. Repeat roughly 5 hours later to remove excess bile that might not have been expelled. Consequently, start administering the first of these enemas as early as possible in the day if you are sensitive to caffeine. Advice varies considerably regarding the frequency of using this type of enema. While some experts recommend numerous repeats over an extended period, others advise against administering coffee enemas continually beyond 4 weeks as they may deplete some of your body's vitamins and minerals.

    Epsom salts enema
Healthful benefits: thorough colon cleansing, relieves constipation.

Do NOT use epsom salts enemas if you are vomiting, nauseous and or experience stomach pain. Tread with caution since, in rare cases, swallowed epsom salts have lead to death where the body absorbed too much magnesium sulphate.

    Lemon Juice Enema

Healthful benefits: Quickly relieves colitis (inflammation of the inner colon walls); relieves constipation
    • 2/3 cup freshly squeezed and filtered lemon juice (use less if you have irritation and cramping concerns with lemon juice enemas)
    • 8.5 cups water

    Milk and Molasses Enema

Healthful benefits: Very thorough (even explosive for some) colon cleanse,
    • 1 to 2 cups whole milk (proportionally equal to other ingredient)
    • 1 to 2 cups blackstrap molasses (proportionally equal to other ingredient)
Thoroughly mix blackstrap molasses into warm milk. Cool and administer quickly and from a higher than normal enema bag (given the greater viscosity of this enema fluid). (May cause cramping and be difficult to hold for long periods).

    Baking Soda & Salt Enema

Healthful benefits: Neutralizes excess colon acidity, heals colon ulcers caused by excess acidity.
Use this enema infrequently since it could lead to excess colon alkalinity. The colon should be mildly acidic.

    Sea Salt Water Enema

Healthful benefits: Most comfortable enema to remove old fecal matter (because, when compared with other enemas, it can usually be retained longer of up to roughly 40 minutes. It also does not draw water back and forth between the colon and rest of the body and does not deplete the body of electrolytes). It is therefore ideal for persons new to enemas.

    Herbal Enemas

    Chamomile Tea Enema

Healthful benefits: To soothe and relax contracted muscles; to treat anxiety and insomnia; to treat Crohn's disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrom (IBS)Colitis and PolypA chamomile tea enema can be used by people with an intolerance for coffee enemas (with reactions that may include colitis). It may replace or be combined with a coffee enema. A common combination between chamomile and coffee is 50% each.

    • Chamomile tea
This ingredient is so 'neutral' that it may even be drunk in addition to being taken rectally.

    Garlic Enema

Healthful benefits: To eliminate intestinal parasites, reduce candida in the colon; to remove mucous in the colon. The garlic enema is considerably more potent than eating garlic.
    • up to 5 cloves of garlic (for acute parasite infestations, reduce severe die-off by starting with 1 clove and increasing by 1 daily)
    • 8.5 cups water
Crush the garlic. Allow to stand in water for as long as possible, between 15 minutes and overnight. Strain and administer. If you administer this over a period, you may significantly reduce good bacteria and need to follow with an acidophilus enema in the end.

    Kidney Enema
Dandelion helps to clean the kidneys. I steeped the chopped dandelion root in boiling hot water, allowed it to cool and strained before administering it as an enema. Other kidney-friendly herbs include rhubarb, concha ostrease and liquorice. However, I have only ever used dandelion. As mentioned otherwise, the salt water flush (and salt water enema) may not be ideal for those with kidney health concerns. Read more. Since herbal flushes are more effective if preceded by cleansing enemas, consider the lemon juice enema if your kidney health is a concern.
    • 3 tbsp Dandelion root, chopped
    • 4 cups water

    Neem Enema
Healthful benefits: To stimulate the immune system, to purify the blood, to eliminate intestinal parasites, to remedy skin conditions
    • 1 tbsp neem powder (OR handful of neem leaves)
    • 8.5 cups water
Steep neem in boiling hot water. Strain and administer.

    Aloe Enema
Healthful benefits: Soothing, healing, anti-inflammatory. Read about how aloe vera can also be used orally for colon cleansing and its benefits which, among other things includes reducing sugar from the body which is ideal for those suffering from diabetes
